How It Works

Here is a detailed overview of our event. Some details might change depending on feedback from the Flash Game.

Tag Nominations

During tag nominations, you can submit tags you would like to see in the tag pool. If you plan on partaking in the event, also nominate tags you do not want to interact with (see why under sign-ups).Following sign-ups, mods will use these tag nominations to create the tag lists.As a tip, some tags may be deemed too broad (ex: Alternate Universe - Modern Setting) and will not be included in the Tag Pool.

Sign-Ups

During sign-ups, you will identify nominated tags that you do not want to see in received works and that you do not want to create with (DNW tags).Since this is a tag-blind event, it is important that you are honest and detailed in your sign-ups.You can sign up as a writer or artist or both! If you sign up for both, mods will ask you to create art or fic at the beginning of each creation period. Depending on the numbers of artist-only and writer-only participants, you may be asked to create one type of work more than the other, but we will ensure that you are creating both in this event.

First Creation Period

For the first creation period, you will receive five random tags from the Tag Pool. These will be your focus tags and you will create a work based off of these tags.

Other Creation Periods

For all other creation periods, you will receive a work from the previous round. Writers will receive art and artists will receive fic. If you signed up as both, you will receive either a fic or art and be asked to create the other type.From this received work, you will
first guess the five tags that the work is based off of - these will be your focus tags this round. Make sure to write this down! You'll need it for work submission and end of event reveals.Then you will create a work using those focus tags. You can use the previous work as direct inspiration or combine them in your own way. Of course, you are not limited to those five ideas/concepts! But remember, more elements in your work will make guessing more difficult for the next participant.

Tagging

While participants will receive works without any tags, mods will need a list of tags to match for chains. For each of your works, please create a list of tags as you would normally and also include any tags in our Additional Content Tags list that apply to your work. It is better to overtag than undertag and you can always remove tags later!We also recommend both writers and artists ask for a Tag Beta on the Discord server. A Tag Beta's specific role is to check over your work for any Restricted Tags or Additional Content Tags. Information about Tag Betas can also be found in our FAQs.

Submitting Works

Post your work to the Tele-Tags collection, including all of the tags you would normally use for the work plus any Additional Content tags.You will also fill out a submission form. This submission form will be in the email that you received at the beginning of the creation period as well as in the Discord.You must still complete a submission form if you opted out of the creation period (even if you are opting out of the next creation period, too). If we do not hear from you within three days, you will be dropped from the event.

Matching for Chains

In the week between creation periods, mods will briefly review work tags (unless you used a Tag Beta) and match up the next person in the chain.

Chain Features

At the end of the event, there will be several chains of five to eight works of fic and art. Chains will be revealed and featured one at a time on our socials!
